On March 16, Executive Director of the American Library Association’s (ALA)
Washington Office Emily Sheketoff took part in a roundtable discussion
during a public meeting at the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Topics included the broadband stimulus program on innovative programs and
activities of the National Telecommunications and Information Administration
(NTIA), the Agriculture Department’s Rural Utilities Service (RUS) and the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

During the meeting, Sheketoff had the opportunity to give remarks and
discuss how libraries are well-positioned to provide programs to stimulate
broadband demand.

Sheketoff took part in Session 3: Innovative Programs to Encourage
Sustainable Adoption of Broadband service and Expanding Public Computer
