Hi Steve, maybe it's a problem with your Ezproxy or other proxy service? I finally got our remote access going, but I had to work with both Gale tech support and OCLC's ezproxy support to figure it out. Ezproxy was most helpful.
With ezproxy I double checked the proxy prefix, correct port, and proper configuration of the ezproxy.cfg and .usr files. That kind of thing was the key to getting everything going over here. Then, working with Gale to make sure all your target URLs to the specific Gale databases are correct, with the attached proxy prefix, of course.
Hope that's helpful!

Subject: [Libs-Or] Gale remote authentication
I have been asked by my Dean to inquire of Oregon libraries if anyone else is having (or has had significant) trouble getting remote authentication to work for the new Gale database package, or is our problem somehow unique to us? Stories of problems that have been fixed would be helpful as well. And yes, we have been in communication with Gale tech support, before anyone asks ;-)
