Non-Tenure-Track Instruction Librarian

The non-tenure track Instruction Librarian serves in a collaborative role with the librarians in designing and implementing information literacy instruction at Western Oregon University. Information literacy instruction is implemented through classroom and web based-instruction. The candidate must be able to design and develop engaging course-related library instruction sessions and be versed in current and emerging instructional theory and application. Most classroom sessions include web based research guides and supplemental web instruction. The candidate must be proficient with digital technology including the ability to adapt classroom instruction for web-only delivery. The candidate will also provide 8-12 hours of reference per week, with a potential Sunday-Thursday schedule. Reference services are delivered both in person and via chat and text messaging.  Western Oregon University serves a diverse population of students and the candidate must be able to teach and provide reference service to a variety of students ranging from first generation, traditional, non-traditional, graduate and International students.
