I just learned about GCFLearnFree.org<http://www.gcflearnfree.org/> and thought it could be useful in libraries. The site provides free tutorials in such areas as computer training like Excel and email basics , job skills like resume writing and tips for job searching, math and money basics like figuring percentages and staying out of debt, and everyday life basics like reading a map and filling a prescription. They've also just launched a section for helping people learn to read.

Tutorials are self-paced and interactive, and a few about computers can even be taken as online classes during which learners get feedback from instructors and can earn a certificate of completion and continuing education credits. http://www.gcflearnfree.org/home/support.aspx?q=12

All (most?) content is available in Spanish: http://www.gcfaprendagratis.org/.

The site exists to help fulfill the mission of the Goodwill Community Foundation, http://gcflearnfree.org/home/ourstory.aspx, and is endorsed by the Family Center on Technology and Disability, http://www.fctd.info/resources/4917.

FYI,
