Hello everyone! This is the moment you have all been waiting for! Below
are the choices for 2013 slogans as well as the general theme for 2014.

As you comment to your coworkers about how amazing these slogans are you
might be thinking about how much you wish you could be part of the
decision process. You might also be dying to make contributions to the
CSLP summer reading manual. Don't see enough diversity in the manuals,
or would like to take part in reaching underserved populations
nationwide during the summer? Or maybe you are SUPER passionate about
adult summer reading programming? Well, you might consider joining a
CSLP committee (or perhaps running for a CSD office!!). If you are
interested in joining a committee, please contact one of the CSLP
representatives listed at the bottom of this email.

While you're thinking about CSLP, go to www.cslpreads.org
<http://www.cslpreads.org/> right now and register. Everyone who works
with summer reading should register on the site. You don't even have to
give blood to sign up! Just enter some basic info about you and your
library and, voila! you are signed up. Now you have access to all kinds
of cool stuff, including an Early Literacy manual (new this year!),
slogans in Spanish, forum to discuss all things summer reading, and
more!

CSLP members now have access to cool free resources through
teachingbooks.net. Go to
http://www.highsmith.com/cslp/pages/new-resources-2011 and click on
either the One World, Many Stories button or the You Are Here button and
explore the awesome resources available to you. Seriously, do it.

The slogans for 2013 are:

Children: Dig Into Reading

Teen: Beneath the Surface

Adult: Groundbreaking Reads

2014 General Theme: Science:
technology/experiments/machines/scifi/steampunk/robots/future...could
also include lots of the components Oregonians wanted from the
Environment theme like nature, animals, composting, and other
environmental issues-it's all Science! We are all excited about the
prospect of blowing things

All Oregon public, volunteer, and tribal libraries are members of the
Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP). To get the most out of your
membership, create an account on the CSLP website (www.cslpreads.org
<http://www.cslpreads.org/> ) and you will be able to access additional
summer reading resources. CSLP membership dues and manual fees are paid
for by the State Library with LSTA funds. Summer reading manuals are
distributed by OLA's Children's Services Division, and both CSD and OYAN
members represent you on CSLP committees and at the CSLP annual meeting.
Your ideas and feedback are invaluable to your representatives. Please
don't hesitate to share!
