I think this writer's festival may be of interest to librarians and library
patrons alike.
We had about 170 attendees last year and expect about the same this year.

TERROIR CREATIVE WRITING FESTIVAL CELEBRATES
WRITERS, WRITING AND PUBLISHING
A day of workshops, lectures and readings brings
writers, editors and publishers together in McMinnville, April 30, 2011
The Terroir Creative Writing Festival, a full day of workshops, readings and
book signings, will take place Saturday, April 30, 2011, from 8 a.m. to 5:30
p.m. at the McMinnville Community Center, 600 NE Evans Street, McMinnville,
Ore.
Presenting authors include Jean Auel, Robin Cody, Barbara Drake, Monica
Drake, Christina Katz, Craig Lesley, Lex Runciman, Pauls Toutonghi,
Elizabeth Woody and Anne Zimmerman.
Also featured at this year¹s Festival will be a panel of Oregon editors and
publishers, including Mary Elizabeth Braun from Oregon State University
Press, Rebecca Olson from Calyx magazine, Casey Bush from the Bear Deluxe,
Dennis Stovall of Portland State University¹s Ooligan Press, and Jessica
Lamb from Airlie Press, who will discuss publishing opportunities.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a sack lunch and some of their own writing
to read during the open mic period at the end of the day.

Fees are $50 for adults, and $35 for students and adults 65 and over.
The event is sponsored by The Arts Alliance of Yamhill County, with
additional funding provided by the Yamhill County Cultural Coalition, the
Nicholson Library at Linfield College and Linfield¹s Department of English.
