Tualatin Public Library seeks candidates for Librarian II - Children's Services. This position performs professional librarian work and is a lead worker in the Public Services section of the library. Duties include overseeing and coordinating activities serving children and their caregivers; researching, planning, preparing, budgeting, and implementing programs and outreach activities for children and their families; conducting collection development activities for juvenile materials in all formats in English and Spanish; and staffing an information desk that serves all ages and providing advanced reference and reader's advisory services. LSTA Grant - Archivist (12 month appointment)

Western Oregon University invites applications for the position of Project Archivist to work extensively with high-profile gubernatorial political papers located at three institutions for a one-year (12-month), grant-funded, full-time position. This position will report to the WOU Dean of Library and Media Services. A consortium of four public and private higher education libraries in the Willamette Valley (Portland State University in Portland, Pacific University in Forest Grove, Western Oregon University in Monmouth, and Willamette University in Salem) were awarded a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant to cooperatively process, preserve, and create finding aids relating to the non-official and personal papers of three Oregon governors since World War II: Robert W. Straub (Governor 1975-1979), located at Western Oregon University; Victor Atiyeh (Governor 1979-1987), located at Pacific University; and Barbara Roberts (Governor, 1991-1995), located at Portland State University. Review of applications will begin April 16, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled. Department: Library and Media Services. Salary: $44,000 (one-year, 12-month contract).

Assistant Library Director

The City of Camas Public Library is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Library Director. The individual selected for this position will plan, direct, supervise and coordinate the activities and operations of the city's library including the adult, youth, and technical sections, reference and circulation functions, maintenance and acquisition of library materials and resources; coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies; use technology to deliver services; and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Library Director and act in absence of same as directed. The ideal candidate for this position shall have a proven record of leadership and supervision in a library setting and be well-versed in the use of technology in libraries to deliver services. Applicants should have a Masters degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited college of university plus five years of increasingly responsible professional librarian experience, including two years of administrative and supervisory responsibility. Possession of a Washington State Librarian's Certificate is required. Salary: $5134-6132/monthly.

Driftwood Public Library - Purpose of Position: Connect the community to ideas, information, technologies, culture and each other by using the Library's collections, electronic resources and public space. The Librarian provides reference assistance, technological instruction, varied programs and promotes readership. MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS: Possess a broad knowledge of the methods, principles, practices and philosophy of public library operations and electronics services delivery, a Masters of Library Science Degree from an ALA accredited school of Librarianship and at least one year of library experience with a focus on reference or technology based services or any satisfactory combination of experience and training that demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties. Demonstrated experience with a wide variety of computer applications in a networked environment, including: word processors, spreadsheets, bibliographic and full-text databases, Internet and social networking as well as e-book technologies. A strong working knowledge of library cataloging and familiarity with OCLC and the Dewey Classification System, MARC and AAR2 cataloging is required. Excellent communication (verbal and in written) in a customer service environment, time management, problem-solving and organizational skills. Must be able to work evenings and weekends. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/LICENSES: Valid Driver's License. DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS: Fluency in Spanish. Experience as a Reference Librarian in a public library, performing in a leadership capacity, e.g. overseeing the Library in the absence of management.
