Professional Identify and Technology: Looking Forward
2014 ACRL Oregon & Washington Fall Joint Conference Thursday, October 23, 2014 @12pm - Friday, October 24, 2014 @12pm Menucha Retreat & Conference Center, Corbett, OR

Early registration closes Friday, Sept. 26

Late registration closes Wednesday, Oct. 1

Join library colleagues from across Oregon and Washington for two days of insightful and thought-provoking conversation about issues related to the intersections of librarianship and technology, and the implications for our work, identities, users and institutions. Topics will include gender/identity and technology, how libraries of all sizes can realistically take advantage of new and emerging technologies, and future directions for the use of technology in libraries. Keynote speakers are Deborah Hicks and Chris Bourg.
Registration and full details about this single-track conference are available on the conference webpage<http://acrloregon.org/2014acrlorwaconference/>.

Deborah Hicks, a 2014 PhD candidate in Educational Policy Studies at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, examines the discourses that information professionals working in various library settings use to describe their professional identity.

Chris Bourg, Assistant University Librarian (AUL) for Public Services for the Stanford University Libraries, is a sociologist by training and often speaks on issues of gender and status.

We look forward to seeing you at Menucha! (And for those of you who are counting - this will be your second-to-last email from me! The end is nigh).
