Our colleague, Kathleen Joy, director of Oregon Volunteers has asked that I share this calendar of community conversations about volunteers. The conversations are  “17 Discussions Across the State About Volunteering and Engagement as Community Building Strategies”  They are very interested in having librarians attend these meetings.  I’ve attached the flyer with the schedule and a registration link.

Subject: Hoping for your help in promoting upcoming Community Conversations

Dear Shirley, Mary Kay, and June -

We need your help in promoting a series of Community Conversations that we are planning to convene across the state between July 13 and August 12.  While a number of them are scheduled in public libraries, others are not......and we want to make certain that libraries are well represented in the conversations we have scheduled.  To insure that we meet our "librarian inclusion" goal, I am reaching out to you in hopes that you can pass the word along to your constituencies about our events.  I have attached a flyer that shows the dates and times of all seventeen conversations, along with a link to further details and registration.

We are working diligently to insure that we don't end up with only human service organizations represented at our local meetings, and recognize that your help will be invaluable in meeting in that need.
