Hello everyone and just want to let you know about a couple of free CE
opportunities we have here at the National Network of Libraries of Medicine
Pacific Northwest Region.
Do you work with patrons or personnel who are in the public health field?
Do you wonder how to obtain relevant public health data? Are you employed
at a rural public library and want to better serve your patrons? Your
National Network of Libraries of Medicine Pacific Northwest Region (NN/LM
PNR) is offering two free classes in the coming weeks. Both of these
classes contain information for any library professional whether you work in
an academic, health sciences, public library or simply have an interest.
They both are eligible for Medical Library Association CE credits and will
add value to your work and provide information your patrons will find
useful. Go ahead and register now!
" <http://nnlm.gov/ntcc/classes/class_details.html?class_id=973> Public
Health Information on the Web" will be offered for 4 CE credits from the
Medical Library Association. This hands-on class will highlight web
resources tailored to the public health workforce, including health
education, promotion and research. Three asynchronous modules will be
available online from October 28 to November 25. Deadline to register is
October 27. To register go to:

"Health on the Range: Rural Health Issues and Resources" is worth 2 CE
credits from the Medical Library Association. This is a class that shows
resources of interest to libraries who serve in small towns and rural areas.
This class is offered live online Thursday, November 5 from 11:00am - noon
Pacific Time but will be recorded for those who cannot make it for the live
session. Class exercises will be given out to attendees to complete and
email back to the instructor no later than Thursday, November 19th. CE
credit is available to those who do both parts of the class and it is
eligible for the Medical Library Association's Consumer Health Information
Specialization ( <https://mla.socious.com/p/cm/ld/fid=329> CHIS). Deadline
to register is November 4th. To register go to:
