In honor of SMART’s (Start Making A Reader Today) 25th anniversary, the
nonprofit is publishing a children’s book titled Oregon Reads Aloud. This
anthology of 25 stories for kids is written and illustrated by members of
Oregon’s local children’s literature community. While the stories reflect a
diverse range of topics, tones and styles, they’re unified by a common
theme: Oregon. Over a year in the making, this book is a celebration of our
state, our kids and our families – and the power of books and reading in
forming our experiences, paths and passions.
