Hello,
Multnomah County Library is hosting an upcoming event called "Banned Books:
Diversity, Inclusion & Respect
<https://multcolib.org/events/banned-books-diversity-inclusion-respect/62382>."
Please attend if you are interested in comics and controversy! Attached is
a PDF of the flier.
More and more, books by diverse authors or about diverse communities are
targeted for censorship. During Banned Books Week, a panel of comic book
authors will discuss why this is happening and how greater inclusion means
a stronger future for intellectual freedom. Join M.K. Reed (Americus),
Jonathan Hill (Americus), Anina Bennett (Boilerplate), Tristan Tarwater
(The Marauders’ Island) and editor Hannah Means-Shannon (Dark Horse Comics)
in celebrating the freedom to read.
Monday, Sept. 26 • 6–7:30 pm • Central Library's U. S. Bank Room (801 SW
10th Ave, Portland, OR 97205)
Thanks,
Azalea
