Healthcare continues to change and one of these changes is due to the Precision Medicine Initiative which President Obama announcement in January 2015. It is a whole new way of how medicine will be delivered and this affects institutions, healthcare workers, and the general public. Data is needed to usher in this new era of medicine and so the Precision Medicine Initiative<https://www.nih.gov/precision-medicine-initiative-cohort-program> just recently began seeking to enroll 1 million or more patients from around the United States. What will healthcare consumers need to know before they decide to participate? And how will the national effort to study specimens, medical record data, and information collected by mobile health technologies from thousands of patients impact healthcare delivery?
