[Libs-Or] Update: shortened booklist and time for Mock Coretta Scott King Book Awards, Jan. 27

Based on the feedback from potential and current registrants, the Mock CSK
planning team is shortening the discussion list to only the 8 illustrated
books AND will have all the books available prior to the event for anyone
that hasn't had a chance to see them but would like to attend the
presentation and discuss the books.

opportunity to:
· increase your book evaluation skills
· expand your reader's advisory knowledge
· get behind-the-scenes information on being on an ALA book
committee
· win books and other fun prizes!

talking about children's literature!

Registration is $5 for CSD members* and $10 for non-members. *Register
before January 20**th** for the chance to win a selection of past Coretta
Scott King books*. CSD scholarships

costs for CSD members traveling over 100 miles for the event may be
available.
The Coretta Scott King Book Awards
<http://www.ala.org/rt/emiert/cskbookawards> are given annually to
outstanding African American authors and illustrators of books for children
and young adults that demonstrate an appreciation of African American
culture and universal human values. The award commemorates the life and
work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and honors his wife, Mrs. Coretta
Scott King, for her courage and determination to continue the work for
peace and world brotherhood.
