[Libs-Or] PIT count - experiences/advice?

Howdy, great brain -


Crook County Library has been approached by the local health dep't as a potential participant in this year's Point in Time (PIT) homeless count. We participated last year and found the experience challenging, primarily because library staff (read: me) did not want to profile patrons or violate their privacy. Have any of you had any successful experiences with the PIT count?


I am especially interested to hear from libraries that took a different approach to the exercise - hosting non-library-affiliated volunteers or social workers, perhaps. It has also been suggested that we take a passive approach and just have the forms out for people to complete on their own.
