Location:  Central Oregon Community College, Bend, Oregon

House Bill 2864 - Requires each community college and public university to
establish process for recommending, and providing oversight for
implementation of, cultural competency standards for institution and
institution's employees.

In 2017, the Oregon State Legislature passed HB 2864, requiring public
universities and community colleges in Oregon to designate a Diversity,
Equity & Inclusion committee that will provide oversight for the
implementation of a plan with standards on building an inclusive campus
culture.

Join Campus Compact of Oregon, event sponsor the Higher Education
Coordinating Commission, and your colleagues working on diversity, equity
and inclusion initiatives on campus to explore what the implementation of
this bill will look like.

Hear from DEI (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion) Committees about how they got
started
Presentation of best practices on training and professional development,
institutional goal setting, and assessment

Learn about the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI) as a cultural
competency tool
Participate in small group discussions with colleagues around the state of
Oregon

Both days will include mindfulness exercises and practices facilitated by
Campus Compact.

A room block is available in the dorms at COCC for as low as $40/night.
