WOC at Work: Racism in LIS

Join the William H. Hannon Library and *Librarians of Color, Los Angeles
<https://www.instagram.com/librariansofcolor/?hl=en>* for a moderated
conversation, by an all women of color panel, about overt vs. covert racism
in Library and Information Science work spaces, the effects of
discrimination while at work, the power of community, and mindfulness.

Panelists will explore, converse, and reflect on their experiences while at
work and the negotiation of these experiences as they happened. To foster
reflective, community dialogue, we invite participants to examine alongside
the panel how they engage in their work spaces, how treatment and the
misconduct of others can contextualize work conditions for people of color
in LIS.

Moderator: Eva Rios-Alvarado, Community College Librarian

Panelists:

   - Renée Elizabeth Neely, Archivist & Independent Scholar
   - Abigail Morales, Community College Library Technician
   - Jennie Quinonez-Skinner, CSU Librarian
   - Nora Franco, Medical Librarian
   - Amanda Leftwich, Librarian & MindfulinLIS Founder @mindfulinlis
