Hello Library Land of Oregon-I can't say enough good things about Edge and highly recommend participating in a cohort (or two!) to learn more about how your library provides equitable access to technology and how you can move the needle to improve access and advocate for funding.

I find the cohorts to be more about strategy, community assessment, and equity principles around technology more than the nuts and bolts of technology implementation. There are resources for the nuts and bolts, though, that help along the way.

I've participated in a few cohorts over the years and find the assessment itself (which you can only access if you are an active member in a cohort) to be an invaluable tool for communicating our work to stakeholders and developing goals.

Sincerely,

Adrienne Doman Calkins (she/her/hers)

Hello everyone,

Just a quick reminder that there's still time to register for the 2023 Edge Learning Cohorts - registration is open through Friday, December 16th. Reserve your spot<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfD7G8DLAH8ltziSvqafJogyCRL3peRryiRlwWhtzO8jdwN6Q/viewform> in one or both of these cohort tracks today! Read on for more information:

The State Library of Oregon invites you to participate in a new peer-learning program from January 2023 to May 2023. This program is designed to build capacity and skill to collect, analyze and communicate data and demonstrate the vital role of public libraries in advancing digital equity in their communities. Participation is free for public library staff in Oregon - and multiple staff members from your library can participate!

You can participate in one or both cohorts:

* Digital Equity Cohort: This peer-learning cohort will support library staff in deepening their understanding of data and data-informed decision-making. Libraries will attend a series of workshops over a six-month period. The series includes an introduction to data fluency, collecting, understanding, and using community, library and program data, and communicating data. Libraries will be presented with an opportunity to use other Edge features later in the program.

* Data Fluency Cohort: This peer-learning cohort will support library staff in measuring and planning digital equity programs and services. Libraries will attend a series of workshops every three week for a total of 6 sessions. The series includes defining digital equity, understanding broadband access, determining device access and assessing digital literacy.

Please visit the State Library's information page<https://libguides.osl.state.or.us/conted/edgecohorts2023> that outlines participant expectations and more. Questions? Please reach out to Darci Hanning (darci.hanning at slo.oregon.gov<mailto:darci.hanning at slo.oregon.gov>).

Registration<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfD7G8DLAH8ltziSvqafJogyCRL3peRryiRlwWhtzO8jdwN6Q/viewform> for both cohorts is open through December 16, 2022.
