Introduction to Storytimes and Early Literacy Programming - August 9 & 10, 2022 1:00pm - 3:00pm CDT
Storytime and early literacy programs foster a love of reading for the littlest patrons, ages birth to 5. With guidance for supporting caregivers and engaging community partners, this course will help libraries create engaging events and services for families. Learning objectives for this session include identifying the foundations of early literacy, discussing the library's role in family literacy, utilizing planning tools for 0 to 5 programs, and examining new trends in early literacy programs and services.

Introduction of Library Services to Teens - August 24, 2022 1:00pm - 3:00pm CDT
What's new for today's teens? And what's new in teen services? With a focus on best practices and proven methods for engagement, this session will help improve services and include ideas for using summer ready to connect with teens. Learning objectives for this session include identifying teen library users as a group, exploring the unique needs and interests of teens, and discussing the best ways to engage teens with programs.
