Quite a good article summing up the impacts of redistricting based on the
2020 Census and the resulting flood of court cases, many claiming maps that
are racially gerrymandered. The outcome of these cases will impact the maps
used for 2024. Two very significant cases are in the Supreme Court; we'll
know their outcome next June.

We'll take a quick look at a couple of these maps in the Elections workshop
on Feb 15.

There is a bill in the Oregon Legislature right now SB579 that would allow
those who are incarcerated to vote. It is ridiculously easy to submit
written testimony [aka your opinion] or to sign up for in-person or virtual
testimony now. [We have one of the best systems in the country for doing
so!]. Just go to the link and look around: information, sign up, follow the
bill via email alerts, etc.

It's a hotly contested topic. Check out what people have submitted as
testimony.
