On February 15, Oregon Library Association members will be gathering in Salem to meet with legislators and show support for the State Library at their budget hearing at the Oregon Legislature.



We know not everyone can make the trip to Salem, but you can also add your voice to OLA's efforts to increase and pass the State Library of Oregon’s budget.

The budget asks the legislature to fund the annual Ready to Read grant program<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/ola.memberclicks.net/message2/link/d89c1336-dccd-4697-a45d-cb7420826d32/2__;!!JsVmmI8-!IroG9z7EvpftxkuKezC1Av8bgQnk5leAP5fipZcouO2vcKr4iOvbguML_KO3UWpQT2Q0PrVUuZ2OQQ246o4$>. In 2021, each $1 of state funds invested from Ready to Read grants leveraged $3.61 in local funds.



OLA is also asking for additional funding for an E-rate consultant and the Connecting Oregon Libraries fund<https://urldefense.com/v3/__http:/ola.memberclicks.net/message2/link/d89c1336-dccd-4697-a45d-cb7420826d32/5__;!!JsVmmI8-!IroG9z7EvpftxkuKezC1Av8bgQnk5leAP5fipZcouO2vcKr4iOvbguML_KO3UWpQT2Q0PrVUuZ2O0IxUU94$> to help Oregon libraries take advantage of federal funding for:

  *   broadband infrastructure investments;
  *   on-going reductions on internet bills; and
  *   on-going network monitoring and maintenance.
