[OLA Awards]

Oregon Library Association presents the 2023 Awards at Annual Conference

These awards are given to people or organizations involved in working for
or supporting libraries in Oregon. The recipients have shown commitment to
supporting and promoting Oregon libraries. Congratulations to all!

Librarian and Library Employee of the Year: Crook County Library. Normally,
these awards are given to individuals, but this year, the Awards Committee
agreed that the work of everyone at the Crook County Library deserved this
recognition.

OLA EDI Anti-Racism Recognition Award: Ericka Brunson-Rochette. Ericka was
nominated for this award due to her tireless work on the EDI Committee as
well as her many other achievements.

OLA Distinguished Service Award: Margaret Harmon-Myers. Margaret was
enthusiastically nominated by the Support Staff Division (SSD) for her
dedication and leadership on the occasion of her retirement.

OLA Library Supporter of the Year Award: Keith and Margaret “Pepper” Teem.
The Teems were recognized for their outstanding volunteer work and
leadership in the Mt. Angel Public Library.

OLA Library Supporter of the Year Award: Karen Salman. Karen was nominated
by many of her colleagues at the Springfield Public Library and History
Museum for her leadership and excellent work as a longtime volunteer.

OLA President’s Award: Roxanne Renteria. Roxanne was recognized by the OLA
President Star Khan for her unwavering advocacy for inclusion and equitable
representation in the face of adversity

OLA President’s Accomplice Award: Arlene Weible. Arlene was recognized by
OLA President Star Khan for being a true accomplice to her BIPOC colleagues
through her words and actions.


Note, these are the awards conferred by the OLA Awards Committee. Our
units, such as ACRL, PLD, CSD, IFC, and OYAN, have given awards this year
