Are you enthusiastic and have great ideas about the future of outreach and community engagement for public libraries? Have you been looking to work with an active, dynamic public library team? Then we're looking for YOU. The Deschutes Public Library is accepting applications for a Community Librarian (bilingual English/Spanish)<https://www.deschuteslibrary.org/about/employment/> to serve all ages within the Latino Community in Deschutes County. This position must speak, read, and write Spanish fluently and be able to pass an assessment demonstrating fluency. This positions both supports and is supported by the Library's entire Community Librarian team.
Our Community Librarians:


·         Adopt a community engagement mindset and assume leadership roles in developing inclusive and equitable relationships with schools, community groups, agencies and non-profits that serve the Latino Community, and identified target populations.

·         Plan and deliver programs and services both in-branch and out in the community that serve the interest and needs of the Latino Community.

·         As an outreach expert for the library, this position will also be heavily involved in shaping the future of programs, spaces, and initiatives at DPL, and training and supporting paraprofessional staff and branch needs.

·         Proactively assesses the needs of the Latino Community in Deschutes County and recommends services and resources the library should provide to address those needs.

Position will remain open until filled. Applications will be reviewed beginning July 15th, and every 2 weeks following.

¿Le apasiona brindar servicios bibliotecarios de extensión a la comunidad Latina? ¿Te entusiasma y tienes ideas sobre el futuro de la extensión y la participación comunitaria de las bibliotecas públicas? ¿Busca trabajar con un equipo de biblioteca pública activo y dinámico? ¡Entonces te buscamos a ti! La biblioteca pública del condado de Deschutes (DPL) está aceptando solicitudes de empleo para un/a bibliotecario/a comunitario (bilingüe - inglés y español) para brindarle servicio a todas las edades dentro de la comunidad latina en el condado de Deschutes. Esta posición debe hablar, leer y escribir español con fluidez y poder aprobar una evaluación que demuestre fluidez. Esta posición apoya y es apoyada por el equipo de bibliotecarios comunitarios de la biblioteca publica.

Nuestros Bibliotecarios Comunitarios:


·         Adoptan una mentalidad de participación comunitaria y asumen roles de liderazgo en el desarrollo de relaciones inclusivas y equitativas con escuelas, grupos comunitarios, agencias y organizaciones sin fines de lucro que sirven a la comunidad latina y poblaciones identificadas.

·         Planificar y ofrecer programas y servicios dentro de las sucursales de la biblioteca y fuera de ellas en la comunidad que sirvan los intereses y necesidades de la comunidad latina.

·         Como experto en extensión para la biblioteca, este puesto también estará muy involucrado en la formación de futuros programas, espacios e iniciativas en DPL; y también apoya el entrenamiento del personal paraprofesional y las necesidades de las sucursales.

·         Evalúan proactivamente las necesidades de la comunidad latina en el condado de Deschutes y recomiendan servicios y recursos que la biblioteca debe proporcionar para abordar esas necesidades.
