Accomplishing a specific outcome within a specific time frame has always been an objective for organizations. The use of project management tools and techniques to effectively manage resources is key in the ever changing landscape of resource limitations, technological enhancements, and shifting policies. But also key is using project management to determine how best apply these tools and techniques to the size and type of project, to ensure efficient project planning and implementation.

In this webinar, Kirsten Clark provides opportunities to explore how right-sizing the effort to the project and organizational needs provides a more sustainable approach to project success. Attendees will leave with a better understanding of how to work through project planning and implementation that also fits the individual organizational project needs.

Does your heart race or your palms sweat when you think about public speaking? You’re not alone. Most people experience some degree of fear regarding public speaking. But public speaking is a key skill you need—and you can learn. All library staff should be advocates who can talk publicly about the library’s value.

ONLINE CONFERENCES
Tuesday and Wednesday, July 14 and 15, 7:30a – 1:30p PT, Reimagining Information Literacy: A National Forum<https://reimaginingliteracy.cmpinc.net/> (New Jersey State Library and Institute of Museum and Library Services).
Registration is now open<https://www.edgereg.net/er/Registration/StepRegInfo.jsp?ActivityID=44112&StepNumber=1&v=ODc0N2FhZDYtNzZiYi00MjcwLTk2OWItNWI3YWNjY2QwYjkx>, sessions<https://reimaginingliteracy.cmpinc.net/agenda/> will be recorded!

Reimagining Information Literacy is an opportunity for librarians, educators, and researchers to gather to reflect on the importance of information literacy. Variously understood as digital, visual, media, textual, and/or technological literacy, this forum approaches information literacy as an umbrella that is inclusive of all types. The need for a high degree of information literacy spans the continuum of life – from the time a child “reads” a cereal box at the breakfast table, to an elder’s decision-making around medical treatment, information is a part of daily life. With the advent of widespread artificial intelligence tools, it is also a time of reimagination. [More information<https://reimaginingliteracy.cmpinc.net/>]

Wednesday, April 22, 12:00p PT: Inclusive Data Practices: Strengthening connections with rural communities<https://infopeople.org/civicrm/event/info?id=1174> (Infopeople)
Rural libraries serve communities with deep social, cultural, and economic diversity, but traditional data often tells an incomplete story. Inclusive data practices offer an asset-based approach that helps libraries identify who may be missing from their current data and discover new ways to connect, engage, and build trust.

In this one-hour webinar, a researcher from the University of Washington will introduce the foundations of inclusive data practices and share practical ways rural libraries can begin applying this framework. Library staff from Liberty Public Library (NC) and Sunnyside Library (Yakima Valley Libraries, WA) will highlight real world examples of how they are intentionally building relationships with Spanish-speaking, Latino, and Hispanic communities through thoughtful, community centered strategies.

Please visit the Infopeople web page<https://infopeople.org/civicrm/event/info?id=1174> for more information to register. This webinar will be recorded and available on the Infopeople webinar archive page<https://infopeople.org/training/view/webinar/archived> within two business days of the live event.
