2027 OLA Annual Conference
Save the date and consider volunteering for the 2027 OLA Annual Conference!
 
Mark the dates for the 2027 OLA Annual Conference for April 28-30, 2027, in Seaside Oregon.
 
Yes we just finished up with the 2026 OLA/PNLA Joint Conference, but are starting to plan for the 2027 OLA Conference as I write.  I will be chairing the 2027 conference and am working on filling sub-committees soon.  We have alread had some 2026 Committee members commit to serving again in 2027 and a few individuals that have volunteered either via the attendee feedback form or simply emailing me directly. Where there is no name listed the position is yet to be filled.  If you have any access problems to the Google doc let me know.
 
All positions are important and desperately needed.  If at all possible, it would be great if Local Arrangements and Food Coordinator Chairs can be from the Seaside/middle to northern coast area. These positions will be working with Seaside Convention Center, caterer, etc and being closer to the venue does work out better.  Besides the two mentioned above we are also looking for a chair for Speakers, Programs/Sessions, Exhibits, Sponsorship/Ads, Communications, and Printed Material. Here is advice given to individuals that are considering volunteering to be a conference committee member:
Before volunteering to be on a conference committee, get approval from your institution of employment and verify who will pay for travel and other conference committee expenses. Know that while a lower rate is generally available to committee members, registration is still required. Any travel and lodging expenses are also the responsibility of the committee member and/or their employer.
Committee members should be available to attend virtual, monthly meetings, July through April, scheduled for 2 hours each of those months.
Conference committee roles are not created equal! Different roles require different amounts of time and specialized skills at different times within the planning process. 
Clear and timely communication from all committee members is integral to a smooth and supportive experience for both the committee and conference attendees.
Have access to Google for access to the 2027 OLA Conference Shared Drive.  All documents, reporting, etc. are presented and stored on that drive.
