Moving Mathways Forward pilot schools,

Thank you for your interest in the work of the high school Mathways Initiative. After a busy January, we are starting to take a closer look at the action plans you provided. Our intent is to reach out to you individually to check in and provide any assistance. Feel free to contact me (Mark.Freed at ode.state.or.us<mailto:Mark.Freed at ode.state.or.us> ) or Tom (Tom.Thompson at ode.state.or.us<mailto:Tom.Thompson at ode.state.or.us>) if you have any questions. Beginning the application is easy, and the PAEMST Team offers several resources to help you navigate the process, including coordinators in each state, mentors, and a dedicated Help Center ready to answer all your questions. 4. A virtual conversation with San Francisco Unified School District
The San Francisco Unified School District has done some significant work to detrack mathematics education starting in middle school. They have taken a bold step to improve the rigor of middle school mathematics for every student while eliminating accelerated tracks. The results have shown large reductions in students failing high school math and increases in the number and diversity of students taking advanced mathematics at the high school.

* Representatives from the district will share their story online from 3:30 to 4:30 on Tuesday, March 12. We will provide a link to the presentation in a future communication. Please mark your calendar.
