Our next quarterly Crime Victims' Compensation Program (CVCP) training and Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) training is scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Please see the attached agenda.

The free trainings are held at the Crime Victims' Services Division in Salem at 4035 12th St Cutoff SE, 97302. We do ask those attending from the same agency/program to carpool due to limited parking.

For those interested in becoming ACP Application Assistants, please note there is a requirement of at least 40 hours of DV and/or SA training.

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the average age a person is targeted and lured into sex trafficking is between the ages of 12 - 14. Despite what most people want to believe, sex trafficking of minors is a crime that plagues the United States. Participants will learn how children with sexual abuse histories are at a higher risk of being sexually trafficked and becoming victims of commercial sexual exploitation. Participants will also learn how Child Advocacy Centers, along with a multidisciplinary team approach, can be utilized to identify potential victims, respond to these victims and conduct forensic interviews of sexually trafficked and commercial sexually exploited children.

Law Enforcement Training on Child Exploitation
[ICAC Task Force]The OJJDP-funded Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force Program<http://ojjdp.gov/programs/ProgSummary.asp?pi=3> will provide the "2015 National Law Enforcement Training on Child Exploitation" on June 2-4, 2015, in Atlanta, GA. This conference will offer free training to law enforcement on combatting technology-facilitated crimes against children.

The Western Regional Children's Advocacy Center is hosting a Corroborating the Forensic Interview Training June 16-17 in Vancouver, Washington. This training is intended for MDT partners who work closely with a CAIC (this is a requirement for registration) such as prosecutors and detectives who investigate child abuse in association with CAIC interviews.  I attended a one day version of this training at the Child Abuse Summit and the trainers were top notch. Please see the attached flyer for more information.
