Advanced Diagnosis for Mental Health Counselors and Therapists
Instructor: Mary Hammond MA LPC
This class is intended to meet the requirements for counselors and
therapists who have not had a formal Diagnosis class and need to attest
to completion by Jan. 1 2010.
Friday Evening November 13 and Saturday November 14 2009

Course Title: Advanced Diagnosis for Mental Health Counselors and
Therapists
Course Description
Advanced Diagnosis will present the specific components of assessment
and diagnosis, differential and dual diagnosis in mental health and
addictions, and opportunities to confidentially discuss cases. In
addition the ethics and philosophical concepts regarding diagnosis will
be discussed.
Course Schedule
Friday Evening November 13 4:00- 8:00 with a 20 min break
Saturday November 14 9:00-6:00 with 15 min morn and aft breaks and 1
hour lunch
Course Requirements: Familiar with DSM IV, attendance all hours and
presentation of at least two cases in small groups
