Workshop Overview: Play Therapy is a dynamic, creative style of
psychotherapy that is designed to honor and foster each child's growth
and psychological health while actively, often indirectly, dealing with
past trauma and current behavioral struggles. With the variety of
currently available evidence-based play therapy interventions,
clinicians can be challenged in their play therapy work to achieve a
creative and useful balance between providing safety and consistency
through the use of structure while accommodating the child's own
spontaneity and natural curiosity and inherent growth potential. This
workshop is designed to maximize your therapeutic creativity while
respecting current learning and research on individual and group play
therapy.

Objectives: After the session, participants will be able to:

1.	Define and proactively recognize high conflict families.

2.	Structure the therapy to best protect their role as a play
therapist

3.	Develop a systematic plan for approaching high conflict families

4.	Learn about play themes seen in children of high conflict
families, and about the pitfalls of interpreting play in high conflict
families.

5.	Feel more confident in dealing with other professionals involved
with the family, such as attorneys, in way that protects their role as a
play therapist and their therapeutic relationships.

6.	Understand the family dynamics that contribute to the
estrangement of children in high conflict families, and play therapy
interventions when children are estranged.
