Mindfulness, the Body, Choice, and Love: Supporting Profound Change

Join M.E.T.A. co-director, Donna Roy, LPC, CHT, and M.E.T.A, staff, for a window into Hakomi Experiential Psychology, the Re-Creation of the Self Model of the Self, and our unique integration of current neurobiology and attachment research.

Hakomi experiential psychotherapy is grounded in mindfulness, non-violence, the somatic expression of psychological material, an unwavering faith in the client's own inner wisdom, and the awareness of the importance of lovingness for growth and transformation. The Re-Creation of the Self (R-CS) model delineates the organization of the Self and offers mechanisms for shifting states of consciousness from painful to preferred. Both modalities are supported by today's understanding of how our sense of Self arises from relationships, the body/brain, and experience.

This introductory daylong workshop offers an experiential glimpse into M.E.T.A.'s training environment, staff and clinical orientation, and offers therapists, counselors, social workers, mental health practitioners, other helping professionals, and those interested in deep personal growth immediately applicable skills for facilitating change. It can also serve as a prerequisite for M.E.T.A. professional and personal growth trainings.

Topics will include: the application of mindfulness to clinical processes, unique techniques to engage and explore bodily and emotional experience, a framework that offers relational, historical and state shifting options for responding to client needs, and information about META professional and personal growth trainings.

Professional Skills Training Module One

The M.E.T.A. Model: Profound Client Change

The cornerstone of our Professional Modules Series, M.E.T.A.'s Profound Client Change Training examines and illuminates the core nature of clinical transformation. Taught by Jon Eisman, Donna Roy, Denise Jessup and Staff, this six weekend seminar integrates the mindfulness and somatic expertise of Hakomi; neurophysiology, attachment, and trauma theory; the shifting of fragmented states of consciousness; and the commitment to working from an absolute faith in the client's own innate wholeness. We use lecture, readings, demonstrations, carefully designed experiential exercises and supervised practice sessions to provide both a thorough grounding in M.E.T.A. and Hakomi theory, and proven, immediately applicable techniques for working with clients. Professional Skills Module Training Module Two

The Re-Creation of the Self
The Re-Creation of the Self (R-CS) Model of human systems is both a comprehensive map of the inner Self and an extraordinary, paradigm-challenging method for effecting client evolution. Presuming clients possess both innate wholeness and a sense of functional Self, R-CS pursues immediate shifts in client states of consciousness, rather than the exploration of historical psychological material. Interweaving neurobiology, clinical mindfulness, somatic-experiential psychology, and transpersonal perspectives, The Re-Creation of the Self Intensive Training, taught by R-CS creator, Jon Eisman, provides participants with theories and methods immediately and profoundly applicable in both their personal and professional lives.
