Join Amy Halloran-Steiner and the Oregon Association For Play Therapy for a one-day workshop on Play Therapy and Using Mindfulness and Movement to Connect Clients to Their Wisest Selves.

Participants will learn about the three-part mind--body, brain and connection with others--and explore a variety of ways to help a client know and attend to their mind. Participants will practice using their own experiences in mindful movement, play and improvisation to create fresh opportunities for growth in their clients. Participants will also learn how to teach parents these play therapy activities so that young clients can connect this learning at home.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1. To understand Dan Siegel's definition of the mind and its application to play therapy.
2. To distinguish between thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations and behaviors in ways useful to the play therapy client.
3. To practice mindful meditation to aid in the play therapist's connection with their client(s).
4. To practice utilizing mindful movement to help clients calm, ground and connect.
5. To provide a framework for play therapists to choose appropriate interventions.
6. To learn at least 5 new mindfulness play therapy techniques to use with children, adolescents, families, or
groups.

Please wear comfortable clothing, as we will be doing light movement activities.
