TRAINING OPPORTUNITY: Design to Dozer - Computer Controlled Heavy Equipment

ODOT is poised to make a significant change to it's automation of
surveying, design, and construction administration. You are invited to
learn about these changes as your leadership and support is vital to the
success of this undertaking.

Although the focal point of "Design to Dozer - Computer Controlled Heavy
Equipment" will be demonstrating the Automated Guidance and Control of
Road Construction Heavy Equipment, many related topics such as 3D
Design; Digital Signatures on Contract Plans; the new Oregon Coordinate
Reference System; the Oregon Real-Time GPS Network; and Construction
Inspection Tools will be presented.

This is a one-day event at a field location in Eugene.  There are two
opportunities to attend the event:  August 17th and August 18th.  (Each
date covers exactly the same information.)  The morning is dedicated to
a high level overview and a field demonstration.  Technical
presentations are scheduled for the afternoon.  You may opt to attend
only the morning portion of the session or all day.  The $30 fee for the
event includes the cost of a lunch.

Please note:  The location for this event is a field demonstration area.
During this training session, you:

*         Will be walking for a short distance (up to 1/2 mile)

*         Will be standing for long periods of time (more than 5
minutes)

*         May be exposed to extreme weather conditions for short or
longer periods of time

*         Will be walking on uneven terrain

*         Will be around dusty and noisy heavy construction equipment
