training opportunity:
ODOT has scheduled a "Work Zone Traffic Analysis Theory And Application
Workshop" for May 1st through 2nd. This training introduces staff
responsible for designing, planning, or managing road construction and
maintenance to ODOT's Web-Based Work Zone Traffic Analysis (WZTA) Tool.
The WZTA tool is designed to quickly pull together traffic trends and
road characteristic data for all State of Oregon Highways and provide
the user with an estimation of when (time of year, time of day) lane
closures can occur without significant delay to the public, and in the
cases where delay is unavoidable, the tool provides an estimate of the
magnitude of the delay.
Hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day. Location for the training is
ODOT's Technical Leadership Center in Salem.
