[OMS_MANAGERS] LGMS: Fundamental Program Question

Hi all,

I am seeking some thoughts on how you engage your committees and to what
extent they are responsible for project completion. This question is posed
because of the database that we received from Oregon Main Street. I have
pulled all of the information I can from the assessors records but am
lacking complete contact information for all of our downtown businesses.

Part of me believes that gathering this information seems appropriate for
our Economic Restructuring committee as the information gathered will
primarily be used to improve our outreach and communication to the shops.
However, the other part of me believes that sending a volunteer into stores
will not garner the type of program credibility that we're aiming to
achieve, and may ultimately slow the project down.

So the short and dirty version of my question is this: Do you treat your
committees more as consultants, a representation of the whole community, or
do they act as your primary project heads?

Feel free to respond to just me if you have any thoughts.

Thanks for your time.
