[OMS_MANAGERS] Press Kits?

Hi, Kelly!

I would create something that you could print or email as a pdf file. You
could create a virtual brochure as a page on your Main Street website with
downloadable pdfs.

>From my old PR/Marketing days, a press kit would include a brochure (who you
are, what you offer, perhaps some history/background, what sets you apart,
and especially what NEED you can fulfill).

Other components might include special offers/incentives; case studies or
examples of success stories; press clippings; calendar of events or
marketing initiatives they could benefit from. and the obvious aspect of who
to contact. "For an informal tour of Historic Downtown Dayton or more
information, contact ______"

Sometimes a common mistake is to try to pack every little bit of info into a
marketing piece, but that overwhelms and clutters it up. The goal isn't to
"close the deal," but to spark sufficient interest to contact you. Think of
three key points that could make people want to learn more.

Sorry I don't have an example appropriate for Main Street, but thought I'd
share some thoughts - many of which you probably already know!

Smiles -

Peggy

Subject: [OMS_MANAGERS] Press Kits?

Does anyone have examples of press packets that they've used to market their
downtown to prospective businesses?

I'm picturing a folder with your downtown organization brochure
Printed material describing your vision for downtown
accomplishments/ goals
etc.....

Thanks very much!

Happy New Year!
