I will be there as well but do not see anyone else from Bandon going. It is hard for us to get volunteers and merchants to travel during the week.

Sheri,
I have a few people interested in attending so I hope they have started signing up.

Do you need a head count for the 23rd? If so I will be there :)

Oregon Main Street is pleased to present "Creating a Successful Sponsorship Campaign" workshop featuring nationally recognized speaker, Sylvia Allen, president, Allen Consulting. The workshop is Tuesday, April 24, 8 am to 3:30 pm, Cottage Grove Community Center, 700 E. http://www.eventbrite.com/event/3126765239
The workshop will cover:
* Selling in a down economy: We are in a down economy, so what! This session deals with how to overcome objections to your sponsorship opportunities.
* Fundamentals of sponsorship sales: What are the 12 steps to sponsorship success? Sylvia will give you the formula, that, combined with the knowledge from selling in a down economy, guarantees you will be successful in your sponsorship efforts.
* How to price your sponsorship: How do you know what to charge? This session will help you understand the value of your partnerships with sponsors and how to price them accordingly.
* Selling to personality styles: How to recognize the personality of the person to whom you are selling.
* Evaluating sponsorship packets: We will apply what we learned to real world opportunities - participants are encouraged to bring your packages and take advantage of the group effort to make them highly successful!
* Case study: hear about Sylvia's ongoing saga to restore the 1903 Aitkin Opera House in her hometown in Minnesota.

Speaker bio: Sylvia is President of Allen Consulting where, for the last 34 years, she has been selling sponsorships for a living. She has written, "How to be Successful at Sponsorship sales," a reference guide that makes packaging sponsorships easy and effective. She was an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Marketing at NYU where she taught sponsorship for 20 years, as well as being program advisor for the leading Events and Entertainment marketing program in the country. She has sold everything from a $25 parking spot to a $4,000,000 multi-year deal. Her refreshing, honest, and entertaining approach to sponsorship makes learning about it a delight!
