Jamie - you are right - the deadline for the grant program is September. That gives us more time to form a committee.

Preserving Oregon Grant - process change!
The Preserving Oregon Grant offered by the State Historic Preservation Office will be offered again in 2013. The grant funds rehabilitation work on properties listed in the National Register of Historic Places, or significant work contributing to identifying, preserving and/or interpreting archaeological sites.
The application process for the Preserving Oregon Grant has changed. The first change is that the application process will be online. The application should be easy to access and it is editable and savable endlessly until the time of submission.
The second change is that a letter in intent to apply is required as part of the application process. If you would like to apply for a Preserving Oregon grant, you must first set up an account on the OPRD Grants Online program. You will be notified when your registration is approved. Then you may submit a letter in intent to apply. You will be contacted to discuss the project and funding requirements and, perhaps, schedule a site visit. Following that review you will be notified via email the approval to apply for the grant.
The deadline to submit a letter of intent for the next grant cycle is Sept. 9, 2013, the next application deadline is Sept. 30, 2013. Please submit your letter of intent as soon as possible to get the best support for your application.
To learn more about the grant and the new application process please visit the Preserving Oregon section of the Grants page at www.oregonheritage.org<http://www.oregonheritage.org>. http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/FINASST/Pages/grants.aspx
