1. Welcome to Sarah Heath! Sarah is the new executive director with the Astoria Downtown Historic District Association. Sarah just started on Monday. Previously, Sarah worked in Development with Restore Oregon (sorry Peggy!). She comes with a wealth of fundraising and non-profit experience. We are excited to have her in the OMS Network.

2. Proud of your holiday decorations? We want to see how our historic mains streets are sparkling for the holidays! Please share on our facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/OregonHeritage

3. The deadline for the second round of the Oregon Heritage Preservation Training Scholarship is coming up on Dec. 5. This scholarship helps defray registration/travel/lodging costs for conferences, trainings and workshops occurring between Jan. 1, 2017-June 30, 2017. For those of you that would like to attend the Main Street Now Conference in Pittsburgh, PA in May, it might be good to consider applying for this scholarship. There is more information below but you can also check out the website: http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/FINASST/Pages/Scholarships.aspx.

HERITAGE PRESERVATION TRAINING SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE DEC 5
The Oregon Heritage Preservation Scholarship provides financial assistance for Oregon residents to attend a preservation-related conference, workshop, or training in the United States. Eligible travel expenses include registration fees, transportation, lodging and meals.

Scholarships will be offered to those actively involved in local preservation efforts and who demonstrate how attendance at a preservation-related conference, workshop, or training will help meet the preservation needs of their local community.

Scholarships are competitive and offered twice per year. The second round deadline is Dec 5 and is available for those to attend trainings between Jan. 1, 2017 and June 30, 2017.

For more information and the application, visit www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/FINASST/Pages/Scholarships.aspx<http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/FINASST/Pages/Scholarships.aspx> or contact Katie Henry at katie.henry at oregon.gov<mailto:katie.henry at oregon.gov> or (503) 986-0671.

4. Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant Update: We are on schedule to open the grant applications in January. We will be hosting a training for Oregon Main Street Network communities in Cottage Grove on January 31, 8 to noon. We will have more info for you soon. The best thing you can do right now is to make sure your goal setting has taken place so you know your organization's priorities for your downtown. We hosted a webinar earlier this year on how to do strategic planning. Please let me know if you want a copy of the training materials.
