Diane: Your are absolutly correct! My error, since I live on the Green side.
I have spent time in the John Day Country and it is beautiful. I was there for about 3 months on a Geological Survey and lived in tents near the John Day River (South Fork I believe.-it's been a while since I was there.)

Excuse me---but the East Coast begins at the crest of the Rocky Mountains..........we here in Eastern Oregon---yes, Oregon has a high a dry area---like 50% of the State!!!!!!!! To all of you in my Home State or involved with Oregon Geneaology, MERRY CHRISTMAS. As Every one knows, the East Coast begins at the Crest of the Cascade Sierras.. (giggle). Here in the Evergreen State all is normal good weather, Cloudy, Foggy, Cool, Rain and/or Wet Snow on the way for Christmas Day.
