That is very gracious of you to offer, I would be curious to see if anything
is mentioned of either of the following families, I am particularly
interested in the maiden name of Della Marie, but just generally curious if
any of them show up as all I know about them is from letters to my
grandmother and a few family stories;

2.  NICHOLAS TACK7 MELVIN (MILAN MORELL6, JOEL5, JONATHAN4, JONATHAN3,
JONATHAN2, JOHN1)38 was born 19 December 1859 in St. Wakell, Del Norte Co.
Ca39,40, and died 25 March 1933 in Oregon City, Oregon41,42.  He married
SOPHIA ZENOBIA LYSTER42 07 January 1885 in Gardiner, Douglas Co.,
Oregon43,44, daughter of JOHN LYSTER and ELIZABETH ELLIOTT.  She was born 18
November 1866 in Smith River, Oregon45,46, and died 03 January 1907 in
Oregon City, Oregon47.

Marriage Notes for NICHOLAS MELVIN and SOPHIA LYSTER:
I have inferred they were married in Gardiner from the fact that Henry Wade
was JP for their application and they were married in John J. Lyster's house
which was in Gardiner Precinct in 1880 census. Les C 2003

Children of NICHOLAS MELVIN and SOPHIA LYSTER are:

Washington51,52; d. 16 January 1918, Williamsbridge, N.Y.53,54.

Notes for HARRY RICHARD MELVIN:
Rootsweb lists in Oregon Death roll from W.W. I army that Harry Melvin died
of tuberculosis; from his obituary in the Oregonian(?);

Corporal Harry R. Melvin who was the son of M.T. Melvin of West Linn, died
at the United States general hospital No. 1, Williamsbridge, N.Y., 10 days
ago from pneumonia. the young man, who enlisted last May in Company F,
O.N.G., and was sent to Vancouver barracks, Wash., and then assigned to the
division stationed at Camp Charlotte, N.C.  when the division was removed to
New York preparatory to being sent overseas , Corporal Melvin was taken ill
with pneumonia, and at about the same time his brother, J. Lester Melvin,
was also taken sick and both were patients in the same hospital at the same
time.
