I would LOVE to have a discussion with anyone who knows about the freighters 
- especially those coming out of Prineville and Canyon City.  My gggrandfather,
Jeremiah Lewis, hauled freight in the area.  He drowned in Fifteen Mile Creek 
in an accident during one of the coldest Januarys on record.  Not sure if he 
was carrying mail, running a long freight wagon, or ??    Anybody know 
anything about the freight lines out of that area  around  1870-1890?
