Thanks Sharon, also also to the others who replied to my question. 
Twenty-five or so years ago I was prowling through old cemeteries in Oregon and stopped 
at a small grocery store in Amity to ask about old cemeteries.  The clerk at 
the store didn't know of any other than the main community cemetery, but she 
called an elderly lady and let me talk to her.  After determining who I was and 
why I wanted to know, the lady gave me directions to a small but well-tended 
cemetery out in the country just off a county road.  The cemetery was 
surrounded by farm-land.  I recently began looking at the Hawley family which is 
probably my least-researched line.  I realized that the notes and photos taken that 
day are missing...not surprising considering moves and ensuing storage units 
between Oregon and Alaska.  My hope is that someone living in the Amity area 
may know of the cemetery so that I can visit it again on my next trip south at 
the end of the month.  There are just a few Hawley family graves at the 
cemetery, but there are also burials from other families there.
