I've just run across www.ourtimelines.com/cgi-bin/makehist.pl

It will Create a time line of historical events for any time 
period from around 1000 b.c. to current.  It will also create a 
list of People born on on any date you select.  It's neet for 
looking up events of your ancestors time Period.
