And then there are all the little private libraries like the
Genealogical Forum in Portland, Oregon or that little one just east of
Pyuallup in what is that town, Sumner?

Some public libraries have great collections and others have next to
nothing - you have to check 'em all. And the ones that have nothing and
know it sometimes are subscribed to a special interlibrary genealogical
loan service (like my local Oregon City library is, but I can't recall
the name of the service at the moment).

The LDS library catalogue is a good place to search to identify tittles,
and the catalogue is available on CD for $5 if you'd prefer. Or better
yet, plan a vacation to Salt Lake City and visit the LDS Family History
Library - lots of outdoor recreational activities for those that are not
bookworms. It is a mountain biking mecca, not to mention skiing. Buy
CD's (and King James Bibles) in the Distribution Center in the basement
of the John Smith Memorial Building.

The old DOS catalogue at the local Family History Centers, if it is
still available, has listings of films that are on indefinite loan and
the location -- I've found it a valuable tool here in a metropolitan
area with several FHC's available, and not all FHC's are created equal,
some have better local support than others.
