For those who may have had disappointing results searching for kin on the
LDS site;

http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Search/frameset_search.asp

I would remind you persistence pays off.

I have just spent several hours going house to house from district 5 to
district 13 in Blount County Tennesse, mostly because while the above listed
search engine does a fair job of coming up with variations on spelling by
itself, it doesn't seem to be very imaginative with the name Teffeteller;

it did come up with Tefeteller, but Teefetaller, Tefteller and Teefeetaller
seemed too much for it.

My point is be imaginitive, I bet anything the McClanneyhan family is
actually McClannahan and I did run across a Hite family who all had the
middle initial W one time who looked suspiciously like Whites to me. Some of
this is transcription error, some of it may have been the spelling skill of
the Census taker, or the folks providing the info.

I like to remind you'll now and again as I think this is a great tool,
especially now that it gives me help in looking for folks both in 1900 and
1870-60.
