  There is a lot of difference between a few feet of snow and a wall of water 30 ft. high taking out everything in its path clear down to the ground 

  I have been in blizzards and I have been on a ship in the middle of the Pacific Ocean with 200 MPH winds and waves breaking  over the bridge 80 ft. off the water line. We were in this for 5 days try that someday and you will know what a hurricane is all about. And we were in an all steel ship 500 ft. long that breaking up do to the wave action.
