For whatever it's worth..... I have four of the five volumes, and I am glad 
of it.  However, I would caution anyone reading them to take them a grain of 
salt.   Having a strong family history in the area, and being related to some of 
those covered in the book, it is my opinion that fact sometimes is lost for 
the sake of the story.  Again, I think they have value for what they tell in 
general.  Just don't take what you read as "gospel."   Midge
