Thanks for the correction. My husband retired a couple of years ago after  35 
years at Salem Hospital in various administrative positions and it was always 
 a battle to even get the news reporters to get the name right. 
 
There were, for many years, two hospitals in Salem. Salem Memorial Hospital  
(Salem Deaconess before that) and Salem General Hospital. In 1968 those two  
hospitals merged into one. So now, although there are two campuses, there is  
only one hospital, and one hospital name - Salem Hospital.  
 
The "other" hospital is the Oregon State Hospital which is run by the  state 
and has no connection at all to Salem  Hospital.                     Mimi
