I have a John Shaw who came to Oregon from Illinois in about 1848. He
ended up in either Morrow County or Umatilla County if I remember
correctly. His wife's name was Harriet Nancy Harris.

In 1875 listed as legal voters on the census for that
year were the names of M. B. Root and James H. Hoskins.

Root was 35 and Hoskins was 42. They were cattlemen.

Anyone know who they were and their families?

		Diane
