As far as I know, none of my Hoskins family were ever in Lake County.
They started out in Linn county and then moved to Morrow county about
1870/80.

Subject: [or-roots] lake county

Okay, Lake county is sort or wrapped around Summer and Abert lakeswith a
piece of Goose Lake sticking out of California into it, the NW corner is
near Fort Rock. and guano lake is near the SE corner, bounded by Klamath
on
west, Deschutes on N and Harney on East, was formed from Wasco and
Jackson
which were formed from Lane and Umpqua according to current
interpretation
on Oregon state archives;

http://arcweb.sos.state.or.us/county/cpmapboundary.html

I have on my computer an older interpretation they gave which is
somewhat
differant, but only in details.

The interesting thing at that web site is the original four counties of
Oregon Territory Tuality and Clackamas consisted of all of Wash, part of
Or
and a large chunk of BC plus Idaho and whatever is east of BC in Canada
to
54 degrees latitude the rest of Oregon was Yamhill and Champoeg
Counties.

okay as of ten seconds ago no one had answered this question, lets see
if I
